Abstract:
contents of the model
The model is part of the model package CemoS, a program system that is developed to estimate the exposure concentration of environmental chemicals. CemoS/Chain is a food chain model, consisting of three levels: producer, consumer1 and consumer 2. Chemical degradation and accumulation in consumers are calculated after a sinufis/gle input of a chemical into the producer occurred. The model generally describes a cascade with three elements. Thus, it can be used for modelling other problems too (for example radioactive decay).
principles of the model
The change of the mass of a chemical in the producer and the consumers are described by a linear differential equation system with constant coefficients. Analytical solutions for the concentrations of the chemical in producer, consumer 1 and consumer 2 are given.
