Abstract:
RENLEM is a deterministic steady-state nitrate leaching model, which
includes relatively
simple concepts for processes like mineralisation, volatilization,
nitrification and denitrification. The
model considers two periods of calculation: summer (growing season) and winter
(leaching period). For
these two seasons the nitrate concentration of the water leaching to the
ground water is calculated. The
model is developed for calculating the long-term regional effects of various
nitrate management
scenarios for an average hydrological year.
